The wedding or marriage is the union of two hearts, which is universal, but the ceremony to unite the two hearts may vary from place to place. The wedding is all about happiness but the way to share it and enjoy it is different in different cultures. The wedding ceremonies are actually based on ethnic groups, cultures and religion. Every culture has some interesting customs in the ceremony of wedding.Lets begin with the American Wedding Tradition the bride in United States of America wears the white dress. The invitations in the American Wedding Tradition are addressed by hand to show the importance and personal meaning of the occasion. The wedding ceremony takes place in the church or any other favorite venue. Sometimes the rice is thrown over the newlywed as they leave the ceremony. The wedding cake and the wedding ring are also important part of the American Wedding Tradition. In the American Wedding Tradition the bride tosses her bouquet over her shoulder to the assembled unmarried women, the woman who catches it, superstition has it, will be the next to marry. The process is repeated for unmarried men with the groom in some social groups.
In the Muslim Wedding Tradition the bride’s father with two witness go to bride and ask whether she is agreed to marry the man, she verbally says yes and then sign the marriage contract whish is called ‘Nikahnama’. In other words she is giving the power of attorney to her father and the two witnesses, who then proceed it and then the acceptance is made by the man in the presence of the two Muslim witnesses. The bride is entitled to receive dower, a sum of money in cash or kind, must be specified as being given by the bridegroom to his bride. The most interesting part of the Muslim Wedding Tradition is that family of the groom search for the bride for him.
In the German Wedding Traditions the most interesting tradition is to collect pennies for years and buy shoes for the bride with this money. The friends also try to spoil the first night of the newly wed couple by hiding many alarm clocks in the room and by not letting the groom go in the room. In some villages, the friends of the groom kidnap the bride and the groom has to find her, he try to find her in pubs and invite all people in there and pay the bills. In Italian Wedding Traditions, the older church traditions consider Sunday as the luckiest day to get married. The wedding ceremony sposalizio is celebrated in the morning, allowing the bride and the groom some quiet time together, while the family and friends prepare for the reception and the festivities. Besides these the Filipino Wedding Traditions, the Welsh Wedding Traditions, Korean Traditional Wedding, Hawaiian Wedding Tradition and Mexican Wedding Tradition all have their own way of celebrating wedding.
